Kirk murder suspect underscores how men are ‘radicalized online’: Tiana Lowe Doescher

The Washington Examiner’s Tiana Lowe Doescher said the suspect in Charlie Kirk‘s murder exemplifies how young men are “disproportionately” radicalized online, calling this a “major takeaway” from the tragedy.

Authorities confirmed Friday that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, was turned in late Thursday thanks to his family. Investigators showcased antifascist messages engraved on the bullet casings used in the shooting, including “Hey fascist! Catch!” and “Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao,” the lyrics of an Italian antifascist song.

Doescher, a commentary writer for the Washington Examiner, also said there was “teasing for furry” culture in the bullet casings and that Robinson was “terminally online.”

“There is a generation of, I think, disproportionately young men that are radicalized online. It can be far right, it can be, you know, the incel, far-right, red pill. Or it can also be far-left, which again, it seems that this was the case,” Doescher said on NewsmaxTV’s The National Report.

“And it sounds like, which [is] a very good thing, is that it sounds like this transgender roommate is complying with law enforcement to try and help them get to the bottom of this,” Doescher said.

Doescher also said the internet is a “toxic cesspool,” and praised Gov. Spencer Cox (R-UT) for encouraging people to “get offline and touch grass.” She said this was Cox’s most “important” statement amid the investigation.

Doescher also said Kirk’s assassination marks a “turning point” for the United States, as people must ask if they will take Kirk’s position to engage in civil discourse or if Kirk’s murder marks “the first of the beginning of the spate of political violence.”

Vice President JD Vance hosted The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday to honor his late friend and flew with Kirk’s casket and Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, following the Turning Point USA founder’s murder. Doescher said Vance carrying Kirk’s casket marks “the first ad” for Vance’s possible 2028 presidential run, saying the vice president “looked pretty damn presidential.”

President Donald Trump confirmed on Thursday that he will attend Kirk’s funeral, which is set for Sept. 21.

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on Monday that Robinson’s DNA was found on a screwdriver and a towel wrapped around the suspected murder weapon involved in Kirk’s assassination. Robinson is being held under “special watch” in Utah.
