Colorado Springs police arrested a kidnapping suspect early Sunday by striking his vehicle during a pursuit.

Just after 2 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance involving a gun in the 100 block of South Academy Boulevard, according to a blotter post.

The blotter entry states that Jimmy Melgoza, 33, allegedly threatened two people with a gun and then “moved” a woman against her will, kidnapping her.

As officers arrived at the scene, Melgoza was leaving in his vehicle, and police began a pursuit. Officers used their patrol vehicle to “impact” Melgoza’s car, which ended the pursuit, the blotter post states. Police said they found a gun in his possession.

Melgoza is facing several charges, including two counts of felony menacing and one count of second-degree kidnapping.
