Broncos 20, Titans 12: Denver opens season with win at home

The Denver Broncos open the 2025 season at 2:05 p.m. Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High against the Tennessee Titans.


Fourth quarter

Titans have the ball with 59 seconds left down eight points. 

Two-minute warning and the Broncos have the ball leading 20-12.

Denver defense holds again and the Titans are set to punt. 

Broncos go for it on fourth down and come up short and give the Titans the ball on the Broncos’ 47-yard line. 

J.K. Dobbins finds the end zone with a 19-yard TD run and the Broncos go up 20-12.

The Denver defense sacks Cam Ward twice and knocks the Titans out of field goal range. The Broncos offense looks to get on track again. 

Mims fumbles on the punt return and the Titans are in business to take back the lead.

Third quarter

End of third quarter: Broncos 13, Titans 12.

Titans stall on their next drive and punt the ball back to the Broncos. 

Broncos re-take the lead with a 28-yard Luz field goal. Offense still not able to run the ball. 

Titans come up short and settle for a 35-yard field goal by Slye. Titans lead 12-10.

Nix throws a bad pass across his body and the Titans’ Xavier Woods picks it off. 

Short weather delay is over and the Broncos start the second half with the ball.


Halftime: Broncos 10, Titans 9


Second quarter

Denver gives up big kickoff return and the Titans cash in with a Slye 42-yard field goal to cut the lead to one.

Nix hits Courtland Sutton for a 22-yard touchdown pass and the Broncos lead 10-6. 

Mims with another great punt return as the Broncos look to tie the game. 

For some reason the Titans throw it three straight times from their own 6-yard line and the Broncos stop them. Denver gets the ball back with 39 seconds left in the first half. 

Plenty of boos from the fans at Empower Field as the Broncos get ready to punt once again. 

Broncos defense comes up big with sack by Nik Bonitto to force a field goal. Slye hits from 33-yards to give the Titans a 6-3 lead.

Nix sacked and fumbled as the Titans recover. Broncos offense not doing much in first half. 

Marvin Mims will a good punt return of 19 yards to set the Broncos up on offense.

Sean Payton wins his second challenge of the game and the Titans will punt.

Jeremy Crawshaw’s first punt is down inside the 10-yard line. 

Denver goes three-and-out after the turnover. Broncos will punt the ball back to the Titans. 

Broncos force their first turnover of the season. Fumble recovered by safety Brandon Jones after Talanoa Hufanga’s hit on Tony Pollard.

First quarter

End of first quarter: Broncos 3, Titans 3

Bo Nix rolls out and has his pass picked off by Titans’ Roger McCreary.

Titans don’t do much on second drive. Punt baall back to Denver after a couple flags.

Broncos drive stalls in the red zone. Wil Lutz ties the game with 39-yard field goal.  

Titans strike first for a 50-yarder from Joey Slye. Titans lead 3-0.

Broncos win the toss and defer. Defense on the field first for Denver.
