Woman kidnapped from rideshare driver’s car at red light in Colorado Springs

Police Line Do Not Cross

A woman was allegedly taken from a rideshare driver’s car on Sunday while it was stopped at a red light in east Colorado Springs, according to a police blotter entry.

City police received a call around 8:40 a.m. from a rideshare driver who said a woman and her dog were taken from his backseat at East Bijou Street and Academy Boulevard. The driver gave a dispatcher the license plate and vehicle description belonging to the man who allegedly kidnapped the woman, the blotter entry states.

Police arrested Vaughn Fejerang, 47, after they identified him as the driver of the suspect’s vehicle, which investigators later determined was stolen. Officers followed Fejerang until he abandoned the vehicle and arrested him after a short foot pursuit, according to the blotter entry.

The victim was later located and found to be “physically” OK, the blotter entry states. Fejerang faces charges of domestic violence kidnapping.
