Colorado Springs fire crews respond to grass fire near U.S. 24

Fire Line Do Not Cross

The Colorado Springs Fire Department extinguished a grass fire west of downtown Thursday night.

By 7 p.m. the department reported that the fire, reported on U.S. 24, west of Eighth Street, had been knocked down.

The department asked the community to avoid the area.
