Cause of house fire in southeast Colorado Springs released
The Colorado Springs Fire Department has released findings on a house fire on Sorrento Drive in southeast Colorado Springs in which crews rescued a dog on March 22.
The CSFD said that a wood-burning fire place was the ignition source of the fire. Officials say the fire was accidental.
I-25 motorist north of Colorado Springs clocked at 145 mph
Fire crews were called out around 11:45 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the front of the house. The CSFD said in a statement that firefighters found hoarding conditions in the home that made the fire more hazardous.

The house occupant had minor injuries that were treated on scene. Firefighters were able to rescue a dog from the structure, and the fire was declared contained around 12:30 p.m.
