Teen arrested in two Colorado Springs armed robberies

A 15-year-old has been arrested following a crime spree including armed robberies at two Colorado Springs convenience stores on March 4. 

Police say the call came in at the first convenience store in the 2400 block of Arlington Drive around 3 a.m. with reports that the robber threated an employee with a firearm. 

The second call came in soon after that morning from another convenience store in the 1200 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue, where the robber again threatened an employee with a handgun. 

At both robberies, the suspect was seen fleeing in a silver sedan. Police found the abandoned vehicle, which was stolen, in the surrounding neighborhood. 

After the CSPD Robberies Unit took over the investigation, the teen suspect into custody on March 5 without incident.
