New Colorado Springs amphitheater adds popular comedian to summer lineup

Gaffigan, who was last in Colorado Springs in 2019 at Broadmoor World Arena, is a fan of making the mundane funny. He loves to riff on being a father to five kids, food and Catholicism. The comic also starred in the TV Land series, “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” based on his life, and wrote the best-selling 2013 memoir “Dad is Fat,” as well as “Food: A Love Story” in 2014.

He’s the first comedian to join the roster at the new 8,000-seat, open-air venue on the city’s north side, southeast of Interstate 25 and North Gate Boulevard in the Polaris Pointe development.
Sunset Amphitheater announces Americana act as fourth show in Colorado Springs
The amphitheater will open Aug. 9 with a sold-out concert by pop-rock band OneRepublic. Other recently announced shows include country singer Dierks Bentley on Aug. 30, rock band Primus on Aug. 24 and Americana duo Alison Krauss and Robert Plant on Aug. 31.
Shows will continue to be announced weekly. The venue is expected to host at least 20 events this summer.
