Avalanche to host annual Special Olympics clinic at Ball Arena | Colorado Sunshine

Where good news shines

Three cheers for the Avalanche.

And their newest teammates.

The Avalanche, in partnership with Kroenke Sports Charities and Special Olympics Colorado, will host their annual Special Olympics Floor Hockey Clinic on Monday at Ball Arena.

Even better, 75 of the Special Olympics athletes will sign one-day contracts to be Avs players.

Avalanche forwards Logan O’Connor, Miles Wood, Ross Colton and Joel Kiviranta are scheduled to attend the event. Same for Altitude Sports on-air talent Connor McGahey, Katie Gaus and Mark Rycroft.

Additionally, the Avalanche amateur hockey development staff will set up six stations, where Special Olympics athletes will work on shooting, goaltending, passing and stick handling on an obstacle course.
