Enjoy the warm, dry weather. It might not last for very long.

The Colorado Springs area and Pikes Peak region could see temperatures in the 80s and 90s before possible storms roll through later this week, according to Gazette news partner KKTV.

Colorado Springs is forecast to hit a high near 78 degrees on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and light winds, the National Weather Service says. Expect similar conditions Thursday with a high near 81 degrees and winds up to 15 mph in the afternoon.

"We bring back storm chances for the Pikes Peak region Thursday through the weekend," KKTV said in a weather report, "while Pueblo and points to the south and east will stay mainly dry through Friday."

The weather is expected to shift Friday, as Colorado Springs could see a high near 77 degrees with a 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. It is forecast to get cooler after that - with temperatures in the 60s and possible afternoon showers on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

On Tuesday, Colorado Springs received up to an inch of rain and hail, according to Weather Service data.
