The sun is forecast to shine in Colorado Springs through the end of the weekend and into the work week, meteorologists say.

The National Weather Service in Pueblo predicted a high of 46 degrees and mostly sunny skies Sunday. Temperatures are expected to gradually increase throughout the work week, with highs in the 50s Monday and Tuesday, 60s Wednesday and low 70s Thursday.

If the forecast of a high of 70 degrees Thursday stays the same, Colorado Springs will not surpass the record high for March 15, which was set at 78 degrees in 2017.

The weather service has no major storms in the forecast, though Gazette news partner KKTV reported "a few sprinkles again each afternoon", particularly at higher elevations.
