In a tweet, the National Weather Service Pueblo indicated that Friday's forecast will be different from previous days.

"Much warmer today for the I-25 corridor," the weather service tweeted.

Colorado Springs could see high temperatures near 61 degrees. Similar weather is expected throughout the Pikes Peak region. It is a significant difference from Thursday, when residents woke up to single-digit temps and bitter cold.

Friday is also expected to boast sunny skies and light winds, the weather service predicts.

Saturday's forecast calls for slightly cooler temps, with a high near 51 degrees. There is, however, a 30% percent chance of snow showers after 5 p.m., according to the weather service.

The weekend is expected to wrap up with a high near 43 degrees with mostly sunny skies on Sunday.

Saturday: A 30% chance of showers after 5 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 51. Northwest wind 10-15 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 43. West southwest wind 5-10 mph becoming south in the afternoon.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 50. West wind 5-10 mph becoming south in the morning.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind around 10 mph.
