Who's Who at the Zoo | Alaska moose

Atka, the 2-year-old Alaska moose at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, was orphaned in the wild outside Anchorage, Alaska. He was brought to Colorado in 2020, weighs about 750 pounds, and might double in size by the time he's six or seven. He's smart, curious and unpredictable in his food choices, though he'll always say yes to a Wasa cracker.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo has done it again.

 For the seventh consecutive year, the local animal house is being recognized as one of the top 10 zoos in North America by USA Today, this year earning 4^th place.
