In Rodgers and Hammerstein's Tony Award-winning musical, "Cinderella," Ella, who lives with a cruel stepmother and two treacherous stepsisters, endeavors to attend a fancy ball thrown by the prince. She hopes to meet the party's host and discuss the fate of the kingdom, not realizing they'll fall in love. The show opens Thursday at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College and runs through Jan. 9.

Colorado Springs filmmaker Tyler Hunt will premiere his new movie, "Who Needs You," Dec. 6 at Kimball's Peak Three Theater. In the comedy drama, a young single woman (Megan Elisabeth Kelly) learns she's pregnant, and turns to her brother (Hunt) for help deciding whether or not to have the baby. He offers to raise the child with her.

Omo, a 4-month-old Nile hippo calf, is the first baby hippo born at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in 32 years. He's the first baby born to Zambezi, his 28-year-old mother, and Biko, a 19-year-old who came to the zoo in June 2020 on a breeding recommendation for Zambezi and her little sister, Kasai.

“Christmas Scheming…or…Sittin’ on the Dock of the eBay" opens Friday at Iron Springs Chateau and runs through Dec. 23. Set on Christmas Eve at The North Pole-Santa’s Workshop in Cascade, two elves are distraught to find the toy warehouse running on empty. And they're suspicious of two of their fellow elves, who are acting oddly. But this is a melodrama, which means happy endings for all. The 40-minute show is followed by an olio, with song, dance and jokes.
