Canon City 53, Woodland Park 24

At Woodland Park: Canon City wrestlers scored big with five pins, two of them in under a minute.

The Tigers' Tucker Coffey (152 pounds) pinned Franklin Carothers in 19 seconds and teammate Shane Coffey (120) pinned Devin Olsen in 56 seconds.

James Ruona (126) pinned Alex Langhart in 1:08, Dylan Lampe (132) pinned Cody Armstead in 1:04 and Tucker McDowell (138) pinned Jordan Houck in 3:29.

Woodland Park won three of its four victories by pin, led by heavyweight Levi Holler pinning Gage Pruitt in 56 seconds. Zach Dooley (106) pinned Mercedes Mendenhall and Holt Brashears (195) pinned Josh Stenier.

Florence 46, La Junta 19

At La Junta: Fresh off winning the Sheridan Tournament at 145, Ty Addington pinned Juan Garcia in 4:56 to help lead Florence past La Junta. Levi Packard (220) and Parker North-Wanner (285) also earned wins via pin for the Huskies. Richie Terrian scored a 9-1 major decision at 152 for Florence.



Palmer 5, Mullen 3

At Sertich: A three-goal second period for Palmer (2-3, 1-1 Highlands Conference) proved to be the difference against Mullen (0-7, 0-4) as Justin Hughes scored twice in the period to complete the hat trick for the Terrors.

Jack Lapporte's third goal for the Mustangs cut the gap to 4-3, but Andrew Rush added an insurance goal a little over four minutes later.

Zack Federico made 19 saves on 22 shots for Palmer.

Valor Chr. 3, Coronado 2

At Ice Ranch: Valor Christian (6-0, 4-0 Highlands Conference) took a 3-1 lead early in the third period and Coronado (3-4, 1-2) couldn't catch up.

Ian Wark scored early in the second for Coronado to tie the game at 1, but the Eagles answered with a goal late in the second period and Patrick Routzon's goal 2:12 into the third.

Tanner Mayberry scored for the Cougars on a penalty shot with 2:26 to play but Coronado got no closer.

Coronado was held to eight shots on goal, while the Eagles managed 33 as Coronado goalie Beau Foos stopped 30 shots.



Fossil Ridge 81, Pine Creek 43

At Cherry Creek: Fossil Ridge (4-5) nearly doubled up on Pine Creek (3-3) as the Sabercats jumped to a 34-14 lead at the half and didn't slow down at the Cherry Creek Holiday Classic. Led by Braxton Bertolette's 20 points, the Sabercats got points from 12 players. Alex Price added 14.

Legend 56, Fountain-Fort Carson 53

At Cherry Creek: Legend (6-3) held off Fountain-Fort Carson (2-4) for a win in the Cherry Creek Holiday Classic. No stats were provided.

Douglas County 54, Palmer 50

At Douglas County: Douglas County (4-3) did enough to top Palmer (2-7) in a nonconference matchup. No stats were provided.
