Colorado College released its conference schedule Wednesday and a home-heavy first half will give the Tigers a chance to start well. CC will play six of its first nine regular-season series in Colorado Springs. There's a six-game home stand heading into the holiday break.

The schedule features a Thursday night home game as Miami visits Nov. 5. This is due to a schedule conflict at The Broadmoor World Arena, where the Tigers are set to play their final season.

The first half won't often be interrupted by bye weekends. The Tigers only have one this year before the holiday break, compared to three last season.

The Battle for the Gold Pan will begin later in 2020-21 as Denver and CC don't meet for the first time until Feb. 6. In an odd scheduling quirk, the teams won't play home-and-home in one weekend, but spread one series across two weekends. Denver will host Feb. 6 and CC will return the favor the next Saturday, Feb. 13. The Pioneers and Tigers will close out the regular season against each other as usual, March 5-6.

The Tigers head to Minnesota's Mariucci Classic to kick off the new year, Jan. 2-3. Fellow National Collegiate Hockey Conference member St. Cloud State is also in the field. The Athletic Minnesota contributor Eric Vegoe tweeted that the fourth team "should be" Hockey East's UMass Lowell.

From there the pressure will likely intensify. Ten of the next 14 games are against teams that finished ranked sixth or better nationally in 2019-20.

CC will only host Omaha and only visit St. Cloud State. The Tigers will see every other NCHC team for four games.

As previously noted, the Tigers will retain the Pikes Peak Trophy without playing Air Force this season. The last time the crosstown rivals went a season without seeing each other was 1982-83, according to both teams’ records.

Maine, Union, Michigan State and Princeton will make up the rest of CC's nonconference schedule.
