Paying homage to the World War II fighter plane pilots called the “Flying Tigers,” the Air Force revealed special uniforms it will wear on Sept. 10 against Georgia State.

The uniforms are part of an Airpower Legacy Series that Air Force is starting this year. The academy plans to release more information about the series later this week.

The helmets have a shark-teeth design that mimics those that were painted on the planes’ noses.

The helmets caused a stir on social media, with ESPN’s College Gameday tweeting: “You guys, (Air Force football) just won best helmets of 2016 and the season hasn’t even started yet.”

The airmen that flew the Flying Tigers in 1941-42 comprised members of the U.S. Army Air Corps (the precurser to the Air Force), teh Navy and the Marine Corps.
