Jim Bensberg, a former El Paso County commissioner from Colorado Springs, has been elected chair of the five-member Colorado Lottery Commission. He was appointed to the commission four years ago by Gov. John Hickenlooper. He owns Bensberg Business Consulting in the Springs and served as area director for former U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard, R-Colorado, from 1997 to 2003. Bensberg has a bachelor's degree in technical journalism from Colorado State University.

Dot Lischick, general manager of The Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center for the Performing Arts, has been named the 2018 Women of Influence by VenuesNow, a trade publication for the entertainment and sports venues industry. She will receive the award July 24 during the International Association of Venue Managers convention in Toronto along with four others, including Long Angeles Lakes owner Jeanie Buss.

She was commissioner of survey, certification and credentialing for two years for the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services. She previously was administrator of Stoneybrook Retirement Community and held various positions at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, both in Manhattan, Kan.
