Wednesday's highlights from Pikes Peak area teams in action:

BOYS' BASKETBALL

Thomas Jefferson 52, Fountain-Fort Carson 26

At Cherry Creek: Thomas Jefferson (5-4) doubled up Fountain-Fort Carson to end the Trojans' three-game appearance in the Cherry Creek tournament.

The Trojans went 0-3 in the tourney.

Wednesday's output was the worst of the three, as the Trojans scored a season-low 26 points.

After falling by 21 to Lincoln on Monday, the Trojans lost by just seven to Highlands Ranch.

But then came Wednesday, when TJ's Breon Harper and Henry Cooper each scored 11 points and freshman Jodaun Dotson added 10.

Fountain-Fort Carson, which did not report stats as of deadline, is off until resuming 5A Colorado Springs Metro League play on Jan. 7 against Coronado.

GIRLS' BASKETBALL

Horizon 39, Pine Creek 24

At Arizona: Pine Creek (3-3) completed play in the Nike Tournament of Champions with a loss to Thornton-based Horizon (4-3).

The Eagles went 2-2 in the tournament, defeating Springfield (Ore.) and Canyon Springs (Calif.) but also losing to Liberty (Ariz.).
