Colorado Springs police arrested a 47-year-old man on Monday morning after an hours-long standoff with police at a house in northeast Colorado Springs.

Officers stormed into the teargas-filled house around 11:40 a.m. and arrested Samuel Walker after negotiations failed at 4627 Skywriter Circle, a home nestled in a neighborhood northeast of Powers Boulevard and Barnes Road.

The standoff stemmed from a domestic dispute Sunday night, which ended when Walker's wife and his 25-year-old daughter left the house.

After his wife returned to the house Monday morning, Walker confronted her and she fled. As she left the house, neighbors reported hearing two to three gunshots.

Officers arrived minutes later, prompting the standoff.
