Colorado Springs Fire Department rescued a trapped driver Thursday Oct. 21.

Colorado Springs firefighters extricated at least one person trapped in a vehicle after a crash on the northeastern side of the city Thursday morning, firefighters tweeted.

Emergency responders transported "multiple patients" to hospitals after a collision near Meadowland and North Academy boulevards shortly before noon.

Firefighters did not specify how many people were injured nor their conditions.

The roadway was fully reopened shortly before 1 p.m. Thursday.
