A 63-year-old Pueblo woman was run over and killed by her own car Wednesday afternoon, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff's office.
Maria Lopez had pulled into her driveway at 4:30 p.m. in the 27000 block of Preston Road when she stepped out of the car and forgot to the put the car into park. She tried to climb back into the car to put on the brakes, but lost her footing and fell under her car, which then rolled over her.
She was transported to local hospital where she later died of her injuries. A spokeswoman for Pueblo County said that alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the incident.
