Colorado Springs police on Saturday found a man and a woman dead inside a Skyway Park neighborhood home in what could be a murder-suicide.
The shooting was reported at 3:37 p.m. in the 800 block of Skyway Boulevard, police said. In the home, police found a woman with a gunshot wound to her torso and a man, whose fatal injuries were not disclosed.
Police said they won't release the identities of the two at this time.
Officers earlier said the case may be a murder-suicide. While police spokesman Sgt. David Edmondson wouldn't address that possibility, he made it clear that officers aren't hunting for suspects.
He said everyone thought involved in the deaths was "accounted for."Â
Police were at working inside the house at 829 Skyway Blvd., an orange, ranch-style house with two pickups parked in the driveway. El Paso County assessor's records show the house is owned by Aaron and Pam Sevey.
Four officers stood in front of the house, while two others were knocking on doors nearby.
Skyway Boulevard was closed from Milky Way to Morning Star Drive during the investigation.
Tim Freymuth, of the 1000 block of Milky Way, said he came out of his house about 4 p.m. after hearing sirens. A half-hour later, he saw police walk a woman out of the house and help her into a police car that drove away. She was not wearing handcuffs.
Another neighbor, who refused to give his name, said he was shocked that a shooting occurred in the home. He described the residents of the house as "quiet and calm."
