Ryan Warner will not attempt to play college football this fall.
The Pine Creek grad who spent three seasons in minor league baseball with the Colorado Rockies attended CSU-Pueblo last spring in an effort to change sports and play quarterback for the ThunderWolves.
However, a shoulder injury kept him out of spring practice and will at least delay his foray into football.
"He's going to take a step back from his football career right now," CSU-Pueblo coach John Wristen said. "He's not going to be with us this fall."
Wristen said the 6-foot-7 former third-round MLB draft selection would be welcome if he wants to try football again next year.
"Always," Wristen said. "He's a great kid."
