Iron Bird Brewing Co. would get an A in my book if it stuck with either of its specialties, pizza or beer. Instead, the downtown hangout (402 S. Nevada Ave.) gets an A-plus because it does both so well. I've never been disappointed by the pies, whether the Ally, with mozzarella, roasted garlic oil, cream cheese, jalepeños and bacon; the Zephyr, anchored by kalamata olives, cherry tomatoes and pesto; or the house-named meat lover's. Nor has pizza's classic companion ever let me down here. The flagship IPA and red ale are favorites, but the brewer always has something interesting on the rotation.
