Police are looking for a man wanted for attempted murder after shooting at Colorado Springs homeowners during a robbery Saturday, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies responded to the shooting at 2:50 p.m. in the 900 block of Harbourne Street, near the intersection of Grinnell Boulevard and Crawford Avenue.
The suspect had parked outside of the victims’ home and contacted the occupants, pulling out a handgun and trying to rob the homeowners, deputies said.
One of the homeowners then pulled out their own handgun. Multiple shots were exchanged.
The suspect fled the scene in a newer black Cadillac sedan with Alabama license plates and dark tinted windows, deputies said.
He is described as a Black male, 5-feet-8-inches tall and 200 to 230 pounds. He is believed to be around 45 years old and bald with a mustache and goatee. He wore dark pants and a teal Polo-style shirt during the incident.
The suspect may be wounded as the homeowner said they thought they shot the suspect.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or whereabouts is asked to contact the El Paso Sheriff's Office at 719-390-5555 or 719-520-6666.
