Mitchell High School student Kae 'Vionna Cole has received a $10,000 scholarship from the Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program.

Kae 'Vionna is one of two Colorado students to receive the $10,000 award. This year, a total of $75,000 in scholarship funding was given to 57 high school seniors in Colorado, with 55 students receiving $1,000 each adn two receiving $10,000 each.

Scholarship recipients were honored at a lunch in Denver earlier this month, with Gov. John Hickenlooper and other dignitaries on hand to congratulate the winners.

The program provides scholarships to students who strive to achieve their potential, are catalysts for change in their communities, are involved in their schools and serve as models for fellow students.
