They won the best-of-seven series over Orli Znojmo, 4-2.
The 12-team league has eight teams in Austria and one each in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy and Slovenia.
Salzburg won the title last year, defeating the Vienna Capitals in the EBEL championship series with now retired, current CC goaltending coach Matt Zaba between the pipes. Thanks to Mountain High Hockey for the heads up on this one.
