Explosions could be heard Friday evening as a tire shop was engulfed in flames in Brighton. Nearby homes were forced to evacuate due to the fire.
Tires inside the store were exploding from the heat, Brighton Fire Department spokeswoman Natalie Ridderbos said. Crews from multiple cities provided support as firefighters tackled the blaze.
The fire started just after 4 p.m. Friday at a commercial building in the 300 block of N. Main Street in Brighton.
