Firefighters extinguished two grass fires in southeast Colorado Springs, according to a tweet from the city's fire department Thursday morning. There were no reported injuries.

Crews arrived at Hancock Expressway and Astrozon Boulevard at 10:12 a.m., said spokesman Captain JJ Halsey. Flames were out by 10:35 a.m., he said.

Investigators found tents and mattress burning in the fire and believe the fires may have been caused from homeless people, though the investigation is incomplete, Halsey said.
