Prosecutors have asked for more time in evaluating possible charges against a liquor store owner accused of shooting an admitted shoplifter.

Shelly LaGrill, spokeswoman for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, said prosecutors are waiting on a report from investigators. That's delayed the filing of charges until March 9.

On Dec. 3, Colorado Springs police arrested Chang Ho Yi on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder in the Oct. 25 shooting in the parking lot of Austin Bluffs Plaza Liquor. A police affidavit said the shooting victim had fled the store with a bottle of vodka.
