A single-car rollover crash injured seven people Monday evening, three of whom were children, the Colorado State Patrol reported Tuesday.

About 5 p.m., the SUV carrying seven people was traveling south on Interstate 25 when the rear left tire popped, said State Patrol spokesman Josh Lewis. The vehicle spun out of control and flipped twice as it careened off the highway.

The crash happened just south of the Mesa Ridge Parkway exit in Fountain. At least two lanes of the interstate were shut down while emergency crews cleaned up the wreck.

The extent of the occupants' injuries is unknown.
