The man who authorities say broke into the state Capitol building in January and vandalized several items has been sentenced to a deferred judgment and two years' probation, the Denver District Attorney's Office confirmed Monday.

Elias Anthony Dominguez, 26, entered the state Capitol and broke several bust sculptures, glass display cabinets and chairs and signage, law enforcement said.

Dominguez pleaded guilty to a Class 4 felony — second-degree burglary — in the case.
