A boy was injured in a drive-by shooting Friday night east of downtown Colorado Springs, police reports said.

The boy — whose age was not given — told police he was walking near the intersection of Bennett Avenue and Monument Street about 10:30 a.m. when a white Dodge Avenger or Charger pulled up alongside him. Someone inside the car fired a gun and hit him on his left thigh, police reports said.

He went Memorial Hospital where police were then called.

The boy was unable to describe the shooter.
