Colorado Springs Christian Lions

Outlook: Kuyper has high hopes for the Lions this season, and expects to bring more athletes to state than ever before.

Coronado Cougars

Coach: Kelly Hodge, ninth season

Returning: Addie Frisbie, sr.

Outlook: “We are building this year, and it’s exciting to see some new golfers really loving the game,” Hodge said.

Discovery Canyon Thunder

Coach: Mark Liggett, eighth season

Returning: Christina Cheng, sr.; Emily Cheng, so.; Anna Mettler, so.; Mena Song Lew, jr.

Outlook: Liggett said he is excited about his team’s youth and talent.

Doherty Spartans

Coach: Colin Prater, second season

Returning: Kat Kachel, sr.; Peyton Kramer, jr.

Others: Lauren Kachel, fr.

Outlook: Prater said he’s most excited for Doherty to have the opportunity to compete.

Elizabeth Cardinals

Coach: Shawn Novak, third season

Returning: Mikayla Burns, jr.; Jennifer Grimes, jr.; Adisyn Perry, jr.

Outlook: “Having lost the 2020 season, I am excited to see our returning players back out on the course again,” Novak said. “As freshmen, Adisyn and Mikayla competed in a couple of varsity tournaments. This year they will represent our team as our most experienced players. I am excited to see how much they have grown since their freshman year and am hoping to see them make it all the way to state.”

Mesa Ridge Grizzlies

Coach: Monte Fetters, eighth season

Returning: Sarah Bentley, jr.; Annabelle Flores, sr.; Katlyn Gaster, jr.; Jenna Jenkins, sr.

Outlook: “Led by Bentley the Grizzlies should have a solid year, two returning state qualifiers and added depth,” Fetters said.

Palmer Terrors

Coach: Chris Rego, fifth season

Returning: Sarah Abercrombie, sr.; Piper Garrett, so.

Outlook: “Our goal is always to get our players to state and we have several players who are capable of making it this year,” Rego said.

Palmer Ridge Bears

Coach: Mike Armentrout, first season

Returning: Brooke Horsley, jr.; Erin Kaelin, jr.

Outlook: “We have a young team that has not played a lot of competitive golf; however, the girls are hungry to learn,” Armentrout said. “We had 12 girls come out for golf; a few of which have never swung a club. I’m excited these girls will be learning a lifelong sport.”

Sand Creek Scorpions

Coach: Nathan Wood, third season

Returning: Kalli Adsit, sr.; Melanie Mancera, sr.; Araya Niklason, so.; Solaye Taube, sr.

Others: Karinzza Voyles, jr.

Outlook: “I am most excited about having a season. Our girls were so disappointed with the lost season last year and I definitely lamented the experience and development that was lost as well,” Wood said. “This feels like a fresh start and a chance to give our seniors some memories and a rejuvenated love for the sport.”

St. Mary’s Pirates

Coach: Grady Castle, sixth season

Returning: Corinne Logeman, sr.

Outlook: “Corinne Logeman has the opportunity to win our league and have a good showing at state,” Castle said. “St. Mary's has a roster full of new golfers, except senior and captain, Corinne Logeman. She is ready to put a stamp on her high school career by making up for a COVID-stolen junior season, winning league, and have a great showing at state in June.”

The Classical Academy Titans

Coach: Bob Gravelle, 10th season

Returning: Maddie Fontana, jr.; Morgan Mullins, jr.

Others: Trinity Anderson, fr.; Allie DeLeon, jr.

Outlook: “We have 11 players this year, with no seniors, and four new freshmen,” Gravelle said. “All 11 have a great attitude and are a delight to coach.”
