Food Truck Tuesdays will roll back into downtown Colorado Springs with a kickoff event May 15.

Last year's 10-week experiment at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum park put the event on the Springs' culinary map. The lunchtime sidewalk occasion featured several mobile eateries and drew about 1,000 eaters weekly.

"We were very pleased with the success of Food Truck Tuesdays in 2017, which brought the community together each week at CSPM," museum director Matt Mayberry said in a press release.

Food Truck Tuesdays is a collaboration between the museum and the City of Colorado Springs. Twelve local food trucks will be serving meals, snacks and desserts from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Oct. 30. The kickoff event will feature music; a presentation by Jeff Greene, chief of staff for the City of Colorado Springs; and a "Windows into History" tour of the museum at 1 p.m. The free tours will continue weekly during the food truck season.

These food trucks are currently on this year's roster: Bison Brothers, Gray's Sloppers, The Hungry Pirate, Mateo's, Potato Potato, Smokin' J's BBQ, The Cupcake Doctor, High Grade, Lucy I'm Home, Patty's Gourmet Hamburgers, Sapo Guapo Tacos and Witty Pork's Woodfired Pizza.
