A 19-year-old man is suspected of driving a stolen vehicle to rob a Kwik Way at gunpoint in north Colorado Springs, police said.

Cruz James Garcia was arrested on Thursday suspicion of aggravated motor vehicle theft, aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, police said.

The vehicle was stolen Monday in Colorado Springs, and then at 2 p.m., it was driven by robbers who stole cash from the convenience store at 5672 N. Union Blvd., police said. Officers found the vehicle Thursday and began to conduct surveillance.

When a SWAT team approached Garcia, he was seen putting a bandanna over his face and was wearing the same clothing as the robber had worn earlier that week, police said. He also had the same gun.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 444-7000. To remain anonymous, call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 634-7867 or 1-800-222-8477.
