A 26-year-old man was found guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of a 43-year-old Colorado Springs woman in October, according to court documents.

Erik Dlouhy was also convicted Friday of misdemeanor charges of using a gun recklessly and while drunk following an eight-day jury trial, court records show.

He was convicted of killing Linda Kochman Oct. 4 after an argument at a home on the 3000 block of Michigan Avenue.

Dlouhy initially told police that Kochman shot herself in the face, but he later admitted that the gun was in his hands when it was fired. She was found dead in a bedroom.

He pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and the other two charges in January, court records show. Dlouhy will be sentenced Sept. 1.
