NONPROFIT BOARD MUST RETURN ED
What is happening to Woodland Park, anyway? In the past, and even now, the papers are full of strange, thankless, petty and thoughtless decisions.
Maybe by the time this letter is read, the tiny board of The Community Cupboard (TCC) will have reconciled with Janey (Child) for not recognizing her compassion and true worth. After all, why is she called Janey instead of Jane? That just shows something right there how people respond to her. It’s common knowledge she volunteered for years at TCC before being put in charge.
If the board isn’t careful, she’ll find another place to use her talents before they apologize and invite her back! Woodland Park needs a big spirit of reconciliation to happen.

ALZHEIMER’S EVENT A WORTHY CAUSE
There was a person that lived a life with a delightful presence, filled with warm, comfortable memories. She was surrounded by family, friends, and, on occasion, the most annoying dogs. She had a heart of pure gold and extended care and kindness without reservation.
I wish she were still here on Earth, but I am acutely aware that her spirit flutters about me. Gifting me with thoughts of care and kindness that serve as doorways to action that are too rarely opened. I have memories of Milly, my mother, that are as vibrant and clear as the moment from which the memory was sourced. And sadly, memories of Milly forgetting where she was. Gradually coasting into a slow forming front with flashes of forgetfulness that became a swirling storm of confusion and memory loss.
I think Alzheimer’s disease is terribly sad. I remember the person and miss her terribly. I am grateful for the spirit that flutters about me. There is a march in support of those afflicted with this disease and those of the family and friends of those afflicted. A march to help find a cure. The march will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at America the Beautiful Park in Colorado Springs. You can help, and every marcher is greatly appreciated.
