FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) — The Zehnder family has led about 200 people on the annual walk across the historic Holz-Brücke Covered Bridge in Frankenmuth.
The bridge has served as the main entrance to the Bavarian Inn Lodge since 1986.
Monday's walk is a celebration of the labor involved in constructing the bridge in the late 1970s.
This year's walk also serves as a celebration of the Bavarian Inn's 125th anniversary.
The event has been taking place since the mid-'80's.
TV station WEYI says Dorothy Zehnder was on hand for the walk. Afterward, participants gathered for music, food and drink at the Fischer Platz outdoor entertainment café. It's at the corner of the Zehnder family's Bavarian Inn restaurant next to the Glockenspiel.
