Here are some of the highlights this weekend in the Pikes Peak region:

Chocolate bunny walk and egg hunt

9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Fountain Creek Nature Center, 320 Peppergrass Lane; Bear Creek Nature Center, 245 Bear Creek Road; $5-$7, for kids ages 2-10, reservations required; 520-6745,

Hop along the bunny trail Saturday at the Fountain Creek or Bear Creek nature centers.

Live bunnies will be on hand for kids to pet, and there'll be an interactive presentation on rabbits. That's followed by a leisurely stroll to the woods to hunt for eggs. Each child will get an index card with an image on it and will be instructed to find the six plastic eggs that match that image, which will ensure a mad scramble for eggs doesn't happen, says Nancy Bernard, Fountain Creek Nature Center supervisor. Kids can exchange the eggs back at the center for a chocolate rabbit and eggs.

"It's a morning that's designed to create connections between child and parent, and people and environment," Bernard says.
