Elite skateboarders from around the world will rip down Pikes Peak Highway at over 60 mph at 10 a.m. and at 9 a.m. Sept. 8 as Colorado Springs hosts the Pikes Peak Downhill for the first time as part of the International Downhill Federation's Tour.

Fans can watch the world's fastest skateboarders take on the Pikes Peak Highway, home of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, at an elevation of 14,110 feet. Some 100 to 120 competitors will attempt to reach the finals during qualifying Sept.7 with 64 of them moving to the Sept. 8 finals.

The event, which is the first of its kind on America's Mountain, is presented by Road Rider, Powell Peralta, and the Colorado Springs Sports Corp.
