The race for one of three Woodland Park City Council seats up for grabs in last week's municipal election has ended in a tie.
Incumbents Noel Sawyer and John Schafer each received 997 votes in the April 3 election, according to a news release from City Clerk Suzanne Leclercq. A recount was automatically scheduled, per state statute, and is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Monday at City Hall, Leclercq said.
Leclercq also released updated vote counts. Mayor Neil Levy was re-elected, defeating City Councilman Val Carr. Levy got 1,187 to Carr's 1,008. Two other open city council seats went to Realtor Hilary LaBarre, with 1,059 votes, and former city Finance Director Kellie Case, 1,205.
George Jones got 886 votes and Mark Maruszak received 986, according to the updated count.
A total of 2,210 ballots were cast, Leclercq said.
