A woman told police she fought off an unidentified man who tried to kidnap her Tuesday morning at a gas station in northern Colorado Springs.

Police responded to the Shell gas station at 506 W. Garden of the Gods Rd. shortly before 2 a.m., who told them she had been sitting in her vehicle when a man approached her and grabbed her arm.

The man then opened the car door and started pulling her toward his vehicle, described as a light blue, older model 2-door sedan, police said.

The woman told officers the man punched her during the altercation, inflicting minor injuries, then fled, police said.

Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (7867).
