A 50-year-old woman and a juvenile male died Friday after the convertible Mustang they were riding in crashed into a pick up truck at the intersection of Marksheffel and Bradley roads around noon, Colorado Springs police said.

Police said the woman was driving the Mustang when it collided with a Dodge pickup truck.
Police said the Mustang was westbound on Bradley Road when it crashed into the truck, which was southbound on Marksheffel.

The collision sent the truck into a signal pole, which kept it from rolling, police said.

One person died on scene, the another person died shortly afterward, either at a hospital or en route, said Colorado Springs police Lt. Jane Anderson.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The intersection in southeast Colorado Springs was closed until about 5:30 p.m. while the police department's Major Accident Unit investigated the crash. Eastbound traffic on Bradley Road at Powers Boulevard was also blocked.
