A woman fought off an attacker in a Colorado Springs alley Tuesday night, according to Colorado Springs police.

Police were called to an attempted kidnapping in the 2900 block of Sage Street, southwest of Fillmore Street and I-25, just after 7:30 p.m.

The woman had just parked her vehicle in the alley to go to her apartment when a black car pulled up next to her as she was walking; a male passenger got out and grabbed her by her hair, according to police.

Police said the woman kicked, hitting the man in the knee and causing him to lose his balance. Police said the woman escaped unharmed, and the man got back into the car and the vehicle left.
