When Colorado Springs police went to a home on Montrose Avenue Thursday night, officers found a man holding a gun to a woman's face. After investigating the incident, however, it was the woman who police took into custody.

Corena Shelton, 41, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and attempted kidnapping after she allegedly broke into the home in southern Colorado Springs, smashing two windows and trying to force a 17-year-old girl to leave with her, police said.

During the incident that happened shortly before 11 p.m., a man who lives at the home pulled out a handgun and demanded that Shelton leave his residence. The woman refused and the man called police.

Shelton is being held in the El Paso County jail. Bail has been set at $10,000.
