The westbound lanes of Woodland Hills Road from Rangewood Drive to Union Boulevard will be closed until about 11:30 p.m. Friday to allow utility crews to repair an electrical box that was destroyed in a single-vehicle car crash.
Police are asking motorists to use caution while driving through the area and watch for repair crews.
In addition to the lane closures, the traffic control signal at Rangewood and Woodland Hills is completely out, Colorado Springs police said. The intersection will be treated as a four-way stop until repairs are completed, police said.
Colorado Springs Utilities expects the electrical box repair to take about two hours. Crews hope to open the westbound lanes by 11:30 p.m., "but that is only an estimate," police said.
"The traffic light is dependent on restoration of power and its repair timeline is currently unknown," police said.
The crash happened about 7:25 p.m. The driver, who was not injured, was cited for careless driving, police said.
