Falcon 50, Air Academy 48
At Air Academy: Falcon picked up a huge road win in overtime Wednesday behind 17 points and 12 rebounds from Jade Adams. Harmony Pettis added 15 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Falcons (8-7, 5-2 4A Pikes Peak).
Falcon dug itself a big hole, falling behind 16-4 after one quarter. However, the Falcons steadily came back by winning the next three quarters and outscoring the Kadets 5-3 in overtime. Kassady Huffman led Air Academy (7-8, 3-4) with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Madison Rasmussen added 10 points.
Falcon moves into a tie for second place with Palmer Ridge in the 4A Pikes Peak standings.
Doherty 8, Air Academy 3
At Sertich Ice Center: After the teams played the first two periods even at 2-2, Doherty scored six times in the third period. Jordan Barrett scored both of his goals in the third for Doherty (8-7), and Garrett Orth added two goals and two assists for the Spartans.
Jake Komrofske also had a big game for Doherty, scoring once and adding four third-period assists.
Air Academy (5-7-2) got a goal and two assists from Travis Hinton. Justin Chiacchia and Jarod Kane also scored for the Kadets, who were outshot 39-20.
Liberty 45, Doherty 26
At Doherty: Liberty got wins by pin from 106-pounder Nick Martin and 152-pounder Jonathon Sigley. Martin pinned Doherty's Collin Metzger with seven seconds remaining, while Sigley pinned Josh Wilhelm in the second period.
Liberty received 30 points from forfeits and Josh Turner (145) won a decision over Daytwan Shirley for the Lancers' other three points.
Doherty got a tech fall win from Nathan Gonzales (126) and decision victories from Logan Hammarmeister (120), Gabe Maestas (138) and Ian Havens (170). The Spartans also received 12 points from forfeits.
Discovery Canyon 41, Lewis-Palmer 25
At Discovery Canyon: The Thunder got 30 points from wins by pin, including first-period pins from Tyler Oberg (145), Logan Hensley (152) and David Traynor (220). Alex Weber (182) scored a second-period pin and Sam Turner (120) got his pin in the final minute of his match. Discovery Canyon also got major-decision victories from Schyler James (160) and Spencer Reynolds (113).
Lewis-Palmer's Alec Oberndorfer (106) won by tech fall and Joseph Glenn (170) and Darryan Vanderpool (138) earned major-decision wins.
Florence 39, CSCS 24
At Florence: The Huskies won nine of 13 matches, including a pin from 160-pounder Kameron Parker. Florence also earned 12 points via forfeit and won six matches by decision. CSCS got pins from Corey Craddock (138), Connor Craddock (152) and Christian Krautschun (182).
Canon City 33, Pueblo West 28
At Pueblo West: Canon City scored 24 points by pin, including first-period pins from Cody Simms (113), Tucker Coffey (120) and Anthony Abbott (170). Richard Garcia (132) earned a second-period pin for the Tigers, while Blake Repshire (220), Hunter Byrne (285) and Tucker McDowell (126) all won by decision.
