5A Region 2
At Fairview: Pine Creek advanced one singles player and two doubles teams to next week's state tournament on Wednesday.
No. 3 singles player Coulten Davis finished second in the region and qualified for state, as did the No. 1 doubles team of Tanner Swanson and Josh Haddad and No. 2 doubles Ryan Coyle and Rylan Haag.
No. 1 singles player Zach Inman took fourth after losing his playback match and No.?2 singles Cameron Edsall also took fourth. The Nos. 3 and 4 doubles teams both took third place in the region.
The order of finish for the top four teams was Fairview, Chaparral, Legacy and Pine Creek.
5A Region 1
At Cherry Creek: Rampart is the lone area team in Region?1, and has some work to do to get some players qualified for state after day one.
The Rams' No. 3 singles player Karan Reddy won his first-round match over Greeley West's Akili Decamp 6-2, 6-0. He then won in the second round against Fort Collins' C.J. Moddelmog 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (tiebreak was 7-3 for third set). Reddy lost in the championship match and is headed to state unless he is forced into a playback match Thursday and loses.
Rampart's Nos. 2, 3, and 4 doubles teams all lost in the semifinals and will need to win twice in playbacks Thursday to make it to state.
No. 1 singles David Lennen and No. 2 singles Kellen Malone have both been eliminated from state consideration, as has the No. 1 doubles team of Rahul Varkhedi and Derek So.
